Six millimetres. Hold the Hot 60 Pro+ side-on and it’s thinner than most phone cases, and that’s exactly why it sells so well in Nigeria, Kenya, Pakistan and across South Asia. It’s also behind most Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ problems owners raise: battery life that doesn’t match expectations, an earpiece that’s too quiet on calls, warmth while charging, and lag on the 6GB model. Late updates and the lack of 5G come from elsewhere.
Some of this is just how the phone is built. A lot of it you can fix in XOS settings, and the rest is a Carlcare visit.
What’s inside, and why it matters
According to GSMArena’s listing, the Hot 60 Pro+ was announced on 10 July 2025:
| Part | Spec |
|---|---|
| Chip | MediaTek Helio G200 (6nm), 4G only |
| Memory | 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2, no microSD |
| Battery | 5,160mAh, 45W wired, bypass charging |
| Display | 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED |
| Body | 6mm thick, 155g |
| Software | Android 15 with XOS 15.1 at launch, up to three major OS updates listed |
| Audio | Stereo speakers tuned by JBL, no 3.5mm jack |
A 6mm body leaves less room for battery, speakers and cooling than a typical budget phone. Keep that in mind for the next few sections.
Battery gone by evening, and slow or warm charging
Some owners get 1 to 1.5 days. For a 5,160mAh cell driving a 144Hz AMOLED, that’s about right. Heavy drain overnight, or a phone that’s flat before evening, usually has a cause you can fix:
- Drop the refresh rate in Settings › Display from 144Hz to 60Hz or auto.
- Look at Settings › Battery to see what’s using the most.
- Restrict background activity for social, shopping and preloaded apps in Settings › Apps › [app] › Battery.
- Turn off auto-start for apps that don’t need to launch at boot (search “auto-start” in Settings).
- Switch on power saving mode for long days out.
Charging has its own quirks. GSMArena lists 45W wired charging as reaching 50% in about 22 minutes, and the phone also supports bypass charging, which runs it straight off the charger during games so the battery heats less. Warm while fast charging is normal for a phone this thin. Too hot to hold is not.
- Use the 45W charger and cable from the box, or one with the same rating. A 10W or unbranded charger can take hours, which looks like a fault but isn’t.
- Clear lint from the USB-C port with a wooden toothpick or a dry brush so the cable seats fully.
- Take the case off while charging. Not under a pillow, not in the sun.
- Gaming while plugged in? Turn on bypass charging in the game or battery settings if your XOS version has it.
- Don’t game at maximum settings while charging from a power bank. It runs hotter.
If it won’t charge with several chargers you know are good, or only charges at one cable angle, the port probably needs replacing. If battery life suddenly halves or the back bulges, stop using it and take it to Carlcare, Infinix’s official service partner.
Callers sound too quiet
Some owners say the earpiece is too quiet even at full volume. It’s a different part from the loudspeakers, so music can sound fine while calls don’t.
- Press volume up during a call. In-call volume is set separately from media volume.
- Brush the earpiece grille at the top of the screen with a soft, dry brush.
- Check your screen protector or case isn’t covering the slot.
- Make a Wi-Fi call or a call in a messaging app. If that’s loud, the problem is network call quality, not the speaker.
- Turn Bluetooth off so the audio isn’t going to earbuds or a car.
Quiet on every kind of call? Ask Carlcare to test the earpiece.
Lag on the 6GB model
With a lot of apps open, the 6GB version can stutter, and XOS comes with a fair number of preloaded apps.
- Uninstall or disable preloaded apps you don’t use in Settings › Apps.
- Clear the cache of heavy apps (Settings › Apps › [app] › Storage › Clear cache).
- Try it with extended RAM off (search “Extended RAM” or “Memory extension” in Settings). Virtual RAM lives on storage, which is slower than real memory, and some owners find the phone smoother without it.
- Keep 15 to 20% of storage free.
- Turn game graphics down. The Helio G200 is a mid-range chip.
- Still laggy? Back up, factory reset, and restore only the apps you actually use.
Waiting for Android 16
Owners in some countries read Android 16 news and see nothing on their phone. In GSMArena’s user reviews, some say promised updates arrive late, and one gives update support 5 out of 10. Infinix rolls out by country and carrier, so the same model can get an update months apart in different markets, and budget phones tend to sit behind flagships in the queue.
- Go to Settings › System update (search “update” if your XOS version puts it somewhere else) and tap Check for updates.
- Use Wi-Fi and charge to at least 50% before installing.
- Keep 10GB or more free. Big updates fail without the space.
- Watch Infinix’s official community and social pages for your country’s announcements.
- Don’t flash firmware from unofficial sites. It can brick the phone, void the warranty and block later official updates.
No 5G, no headphone jack, patchy in the US
The Helio G200 is 4G only, so there’s no 5G anywhere. In the US the phone may also miss some carriers’ LTE bands and VoLTE certification, so calls and data may not fully work. Taking it abroad? Compare its band list with your carrier’s first, as our guide to using a phone on another carrier explains. And there’s no 3.5mm jack, so you’ll need USB-C or Bluetooth headphones.
Carlcare: warranty and repairs
In most markets Infinix phones are serviced by Carlcare. Bring the box or receipt and your IMEI. Phones from unofficial importers may not be covered, so ask about warranty status before paying for a repair. Go in for a bulging back, no charging with the original charger, a dead earpiece on every call, or lines or tint on the screen.
Checking a used Hot 60 Pro+
Fakes and “refurbished sold as new” units circulate in the same markets where this phone is popular. Our Tecno, Infinix and itel check guide has brand-specific tips. In person:
- Dial
*#06#and compare the IMEI with the box and with Settings. - Run a manufacturer and model check to confirm it’s a genuine Hot 60 Pro+, plus a GSMA blacklist check.
- Play music through both speakers, make a real call to test the earpiece, plug in the charger and take a few photos.
- Make sure the seller’s Google account is removed, or you’ll hit FRP lock after a reset.
Frequently asked questions
When will the Hot 60 Pro+ get Android 16?
Infinix rolls updates out country by country, so dates vary. Check Settings › System update regularly and follow Infinix’s official channels for your region.
Why does the battery drain so fast?
A 5,160mAh battery in a 6mm body with a 144Hz screen gives about a day of heavy use. Lower the refresh rate and restrict background apps to stretch it.
Why is the call speaker so quiet?
Raise in-call volume, clean the earpiece grille and check the screen protector. If calls are quiet in every app, ask Carlcare to test the earpiece.
Does the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ support 5G?
No. The Helio G200 is 4G only, and the phone may not fully work on some US carriers.
Should I turn off extended RAM?
Try it. Extended RAM uses slower storage, and some owners find the phone smoother without it.
