Google launched the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold on 12 August 2026. Six months earlier, in February, the budget Pixel 10a arrived at $499. Here is what powers them and how Google protects them.
Tensor G6: faster, smarter, still 3nm
Months of leaks promised a 2nm chip. In the end the Tensor G6 is made by TSMC on an improved 3nm process. Google’s own claims:
- About 25% faster web browsing and 15% faster app launches.
- 50% more compute in the TPU (Google’s AI engine), running a new Gemini Nano model on the phone.
- A GPU that reviewers still rate behind Qualcomm’s and Apple’s for gaming.
Pre-launch leaks pointed to an Arm C1-Ultra main core at about 4.1GHz and a MediaTek modem replacing Samsung’s; Google hasn’t detailed every part, so treat those as reports.
Titan M3: the first security-chip upgrade since 2021
Every Pixel since the Pixel 6 has used the Titan M2, a separate security chip that stores keys, checks your lock-screen PIN and verifies the software at boot. The Pixel 11 series introduces the Titan M3, the first new version in five years. It makes it harder to brute-force a lock-screen PIN or tamper with the phone’s firmware, even with physical access.

Pixel 10a: the budget option
The Pixel 10a (announced 18 February 2026, $499) uses last year’s Tensor G4, but gets 45W charging, a 48MP main camera, Satellite SOS and the same 7 years of updates — rare at this price.

- Advanced Protection — one switch for Google’s strictest settings, now blocking accessibility abuse by non-accessibility apps and adding scam detection for chat notifications.
- Theft protection — Theft Detection Lock and Remote Lock on by default, and lock-screen guessing limits cut drastically.
Buying a used Pixel
Many Pixels on the used market are US carrier phones. Check before paying:
- Google Pixel info check — model, warranty and status.
- GSMA blacklist — lost or stolen.
- Verizon or T-Mobile status for US units (financed phones can be blocked later).
