What is an IMEI number?
IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. It is a unique 15-digit number given to every phone, cellular tablet and smartwatch. The first 8 digits (the TAC) identify the manufacturer and model, the next 6 are the unit’s serial, and the last digit is a check digit. Networks use the IMEI to recognise a device — and to block it when it is reported stolen.
How to check your IMEI number on Android
Open the phone dialler and type *#06# — the 15-digit IMEI appears at once (dual-SIM phones show two; either works). You can also look in Settings › About phone › Status, on the SIM tray, or on the original box.
How to check your IMEI number on iPhone
Dial *#06#, or open Settings › General › About and scroll to IMEI (tap and hold to copy). It is also printed on the SIM tray of most iPhones and on the box. A Wi-Fi-only iPad has no IMEI — use its serial number.
What the free check includes
- All-in-one Basic Info — the key facts on an Apple iPhone, iPad or Mac, by IMEI or serial, in seconds.
- One free check per person — then create a free account to keep checking from your wallet (from a few cents).
- Android phones — use the Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Huawei or GSMA blacklist reports below.
- Valid IMEI — we verify the check digit first; an invalid IMEI is a red flag for a tampered or cloned phone.
What a full IMEI report adds
- iCloud / Find My (FMI) — ON means the iPhone is still tied to someone’s Apple ID.
- Carrier & SIM-lock — locked to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Vodafone… or unlocked for any SIM.
- MDM — a company or school still controls the device.
- Warranty, purchase date, replaced / refurbished status — spot repackaged or swapped units.
- Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Huawei — brand-specific reports with warranty, region and lock status.
Why check an IMEI before you buy a used phone?
Repackaged “new” phones, refurbished units sold as original, iCloud-locked iPhones and blacklisted phones are sold every day on marketplaces, social media and in phone markets. A 30-second IMEI check protects you from paying full price for a phone that stops working on your network, relocks to its owner, or was stolen.
Works with every brand, in every country

Frequently asked questions
Is the IMEI check really free?
Your first check is free: one All-in-one Basic Info check for an Apple device, no sign-up. After that, create a free account and run checks from your wallet — they start from a few cents.
How do I check my IMEI?
Dial *#06# on the phone to see the IMEI, type it in the box above and press the check button. The result appears in seconds.
Can an IMEI check tell if a phone is stolen?
Yes — the GSMA blacklist status shows if the IMEI has been reported lost or stolen by a network operator. Clean means no report was found.
Is it legal to check an IMEI?
Yes. Checking an IMEI only reads device records; it does not change anything on the phone or reveal personal data about the owner.
Why does my IMEI show as invalid?
Usually a typing mistake — copy it again from *#06#. A phone that really shows an invalid IMEI may have been repaired badly or tampered with.
Does it work for Samsung and Android phones?
Yes — with the dedicated Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Huawei and GSMA blacklist reports below. The free All-in-one check is for Apple devices.
Which countries are supported?
